In mid-February, an attack by the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammad on Indian military personnel in Kashmir resulted in the deaths of 40 troops and sparked off a frightening round of military and diplomatic conflict between India and Pakistan. This conflict is all the more worrying because of its potential for escalation into a nuclear exchange.
