Dee Smith, founder and CEO of Strategic Insight Group (SIG), has over thirty years of experience in multiple research and analytical disciplines, and has directed thousands of intelligence projects in over ninety countries and in dozens of industries. He has served as advisor for over US$25 billion in investment transactions. From 1992 to 1995, he was president of Cima International, a venture capital group based in Europe and active in Latin America. Before that, he was president of InterCultura, an NGO based in Texas and the UK that worked with the US Department of State, US embassies, and foreign governments and institutions around the world. He has conduced intelligence projects for the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA), and the US National Research Council. He is currently President of the Board of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations (DCFR); and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), New York; the Advisory Council of the Lozano Long Institute for Latin American Studies (LLILAS), University of Texas at Austin; and the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations (HCFR).
